Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Plain Life Insurance collects, why, who we share it with and how you can stop us using it. Plain Life Insurance is a trade name of Galubenra, LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“we”, “us”). It covers plainlifeinsurance.com and our pages on its subdomains, such as get.plainlifeinsurance.com.
Who we are
We publish plain-language information about life insurance, mainly indexed universal life insurance, and connect people who ask for it with licensed insurance agents. We are not an insurance company or an insurance agency, and we don’t sell policies.
What we collect
When you fill in our questions or a form, we collect what you give us:
- your name, phone number, email address and state;
- your answers to our questions, such as your age range and what you want cover for;
- your consent to be contacted, and the wording you agreed to.
When you visit our pages, we and our service providers also collect technical information automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived (for example, from an ad) and the date and time of your visit.
Consent records
To prove that you asked to be contacted, we keep a record of your consent. We use a consent certificate service, TrustedForm by ActiveProspect, which records the page you were on, the consent wording shown and how the form was filled in when you submitted it. We also check your phone number by sending you a text message with a verification code. [REVIEW]
Why we use it
- To connect you with a licensed insurance agent who can answer your questions. That agent may call or text you, including by automated means, at the number you gave us.
- To keep records of your consent and of any request to stop contact.
- To run, secure and improve our pages, and to measure how our advertising performs.
- To meet our legal obligations and to protect our rights.
Who we share it with
Licensed agents. If you ask to be connected, we share your contact details, your answers and your consent record with a licensed insurance agent or agency in your state. Agents pay us for these connections. The agent is independent of us and handles your information under their own privacy practices. When the law requires it. To comply with a legal request, or to protect the rights, safety or property of anyone.
Text messaging. We do not share your mobile number or your text-message consent with third parties for their own marketing. Your number is shared only with the agent you asked to be connected with, so they can respond to your request. [REVIEW: confirm wording against A2P 10DLC requirements]
Because agents pay us for connections, some US state privacy laws may treat sharing your details with an agent as a “sale” of personal information. You can ask us not to do this at any time by emailing nick@plainlifeinsurance.com. [REVIEW]
Calls and text messages
If you agree, a licensed agent may call or text you about life insurance. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop messages, or HELP for help. Agreeing to be contacted is never a condition of buying anything.
Cookies and analytics
Our pages use cookies and similar tools to keep forms working, to record consent, to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our advertising, for example with Google Analytics and Google Ads. How to opt out
- Reply STOP to any text message.
- Email nick@plainlifeinsurance.com and ask us to stop contacting you, delete your details or stop sharing them. We will also pass your request on to any agent we connected you with.
- Tell the agent directly that you don’t want further calls.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as we need them to connect you with an agent and to meet our legal obligations. We keep consent records for five years, so we can show that contact was requested. [REVIEW: set retention period for lead details]
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our pages are meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
